Operation ‘Close Pass’, as it has been dubbed, is aimed at decreasing the amount of close passes that take place when cycling. There are police forces across the UK that have taken on this task, but Humberside Police do not seem to be one of them (yet?).
There’s a lot of cycling vloggers out there, but just recently one stood out to me as a great new one to follower. “The Average Cyclist” is a new channel by a gentleman named Matt who has stated that he wants to create videos that are aimed at the masses of average cyclists out there (like me).

The Clare County Council in Ireland has installed signs marking Strava segments so cyclists know exactly when to put in as much effort as possible to chase KOMs. Why? No longer do you have to roughly guess the start and finish. This means you don’t have to waste vital energy starting early or sprinting for long after the segment ends.

Italian professional Cyclist Michele Scarponi has died after being involved in a collision with a van during a training ride on public roads near his home in Filottrano. Michele leaves behind a wife and two children, who my thoughts are with.
